The Belgian Fare – Galler Chocolates

Galler has an amazing range of chocolate bars with all sorts of fillings such as raspberry, coconut, vanilla, coffee, pistachio and much more! This Christmas, Galler is ushering its 24-bar Mini Baton gift set, and each chocolate bar comes with its own unique filling. These mini bars are great treats for festive gatherings if you’re looking to share a box of chocolate among friends. And why not turn it into a little game of guess-the-filling in each bar of chocolate at your next house party!

A highlight from Galler this Christmas is its Truffles! A must-try, these silky-smooth gems, dusted with cocoa, literally melts in your mouth and has all the nuttiness of a gianduja! If you’re planning on having these truffles for dessert after you meal, you may think of pairing it with a good Shiraz red wine.

Chocolate and Spirits for a Christmas Party – A Recipe!

At the Chocolate Space, Galler’s Praline Noir, 70% dark chocolate is our choice for making chocolate fondue because of its hazelnut and almond flavours. This week. we have another recipe with chocolate and spirits for your next house party! It’s a combination of Galler’s Praline Noir, cognac from Martell VSOP and whiskey from Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 12, as well as some strawberries and blueberries!

Step 1: Soak Fruits in Martell VSOP or Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 12

Soak some strawberries and blueberries in two separate airtight Tupperware containers; one containing Martell VSOP cognac, and another containing Glenlivet Single Malt Scotch Whiskey 12. Seal the containers tight, and put them in the fridge for about 2 days. [For stronger alcohol content in your fruits, soak for about a week.]

Step 2: Melt Galler’s Praline Noir!

Melt Galler Praline Noir 70% dark chocolate in a fondue pot and stir until smooth and silky.

Step 3: Chocolate Fruits-in-a-Cup

Take out the soaked fruits from the fridge. Place the fruits in a shot glass (a good mix would be one strawberry and four blueberries). Remember to cut the stem off the strawberries. If your strawberries are too big, you might want to cut them up in smaller pieces.

Finally, drizzle the chocolate fondue over the soaked fruits and serve!

Alternatively, you may also wish to just dip the strawberries and blueberries into the fondue, and lay them on a tray lined with baking paper and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Take it out and serve!
