Obolo’s Chocolate Liquor Macaroons with Cheesecakes!
This August Obolo has debuted its latest collection of desserts that chocolate lovers will find novel. Look forward to four uniquely crafted macaroons that pair spirits with single-plantation cacao. It is certainly an art balancing chocolates and spirits, and you’ll be interested to find out that spirits pair best with chocolates that have below a 50% cocoa content.
And that’s not even the icing on the cake. Obolo has specially designed four cheesecakes to go with these lovely macaroons. Lets comb the list with our sweet tooth, shall we?
Top on our list is a bronze-dusted cognac macaroon. Its 41% milk chocolate ganache captures a delightful touch of Valencia orange and almonds. With just the right balance of citrus tang, this macaroon goes well with Obolo’s refreshing Raspberry Lemon Cheesecake.
The perfect concoction of Kahlua liquor and Arabica espresso beans go well with a 46% semi-sweet chocolate ganache. We love this macaroon for its creamy texture and balanced flavours. A safe choice, especially if you’re not into strong spirits. Best accompanied with the Nutella Cheesecake that is laden with an Oreo biscuit crust.
One of the classic liquor-chocolate combinations of all time is a semi-sweet chocolate infused with a smooth aged scotch whisky. This elegant and exquisite macaroon is best served with the Obolo’s Carachoc cheesecake, which plays on texture. Think of a creamy, caramelized mousse with chocolate genoise over a crunchy praline feuilletine.
Aged Rum Vanille
This refine swiss white-chocolate macaroon is the sweetest of the lot. This little white gem pairs aged rum with Tahitian vanilla beans and is a wonderful compliment to Obolo’s fluffly-light Apple Crumble Cheesecake that is certainly comfort food for the soul and a teatime must-try at Obolo.
