Chocolate Shots at The Chupitos Bar
What could be more fascinating than pairing chocolates with alcohol. The Chupitos Bar, which recently opened its doors at Clarke Quay, featured chocolate shots for the night by French chocolate brand, Monbana.
Coming from France, Monbana’s Chocolate Barista Geoffroy Maubon artfully displayed his creative chocolate shots, marrying alcohol and chocolate together. Never thought that chocolates and alcohol could mix? Well, did you know that strong liquors like cognac, rum and whiskies are good for pairing with chocolates because the low acidity in these liquors are “natural” complements to chocolate’s sugary taste.
One of the star chocolate shots that we sampled that night was a mix of Monbana’s white chocolate, raspberry syrup and Malibu Rum, popped with a single blackcurrant to the shot for that extra fruity zest. We were delighted to find that the light and frothy white chocolate was a great complement to the sweet rhapsody of raspberry and rum!
Monbana is a recognized international chocolate brand from France that is planning to offer its line of retail products in Singapore real soon. It was actually the first company in France to produce and launch the Neapolitan, which is a European tradition of serving a little chocolate square with coffee.
