3 Inch Sin – Bringing You More Than Just Molten Lava Chocolate Cake
Nope, we’re not referring to pair of three-inch heels for sale, but a little three-inch sized dessert that has a tender crust and a luxuriantly rich, chocolately mouthfeel – the often desired molten lava dessert. 3 Inch Sin has been a popular dessert destination with molten chocolate cake lovers since it first opened its doors in a little nook in Cluny Court last year. Their “three-inch” molten lava goodness includes a variety of flavours like Mint, Coffee, Peanut Butter and Hazelnut, just to name a few.
Having recently opened another dessert café at Millenium Walk, 3 Inch Sin has three new wicked flavours (Lemon, Baileys and Cherries Jubilee) to add to their already impressive Molten Lava Dessert collection. If you want a little spin on your molten chocolate cake, 3 Inch Sin’s Lemon-flavoured treat adds a citrus punch to the intense, dark chocolate that defines the traditional molten lava cake. And while you’re at the café having your three-inch dessert that comes fittingly in a sunshine-yellow ramekin, be sure to sweeten the deal with a scope of vanilla bean ice cream. [3 Inch Sin molten cakes range from S$6.50 – $7.50 per piece. A box of six molten cakes is S$36.]
Apart from their signature molten lava cakes, 3 Inch Sin has another bag of tricks up their sleeves in the form of whole chocolate cakes that you could order for special occasions; because when it comes to social gatherings, few can resist a good chocolate cake. The highlights from the cake selection are the twin devils – a chocolate cake with praline called “The RRRRoyal Choc Cake” and chocolate tart called “The Dark Side”. “The RRRRoyal Choc Cake” is a combination of different chocolate textures comprising a sponge cake layered with just the right amount of bittersweet chocolate mousse and perfected with a crispy praline middle. This makes “The RRRoyal Choc Cake” a flamboyant contrast to its elegant cousin, “The Dark Side”, a biscuit-based dark chocolate ganache tart done in the French tradition. While simple, this chocolate tart belies its modest exterior with its first-rate quality dark chocolate from Valrhona.
Whole cakes are either 6” (ranges from approximately $30 – $45) or 8” (ranges from approximately $50 – 70). A slice of cake ranges from S$6 – 7.50.
3 Inch Sin is situated at Cluny Court, #02-27, 501 Bukit Timah Road and at Millenium Walk, #01-103, 9 Raffles Boulevard.
